Project Overview
A real-time emergency response and command coordination platform enabling Sentinel to manage multi-team incident response, dispatch resources, issue alerts, and maintain a live operational picture across its coverage area in Lagos — one of Africa's largest cities with 22 million residents.
The Challenge
Sentinel coordinated emergency responses through phone calls and radio — with no shared situational awareness, no digital incident log, and no resource tracking. Response times for major incidents averaged 47 minutes. Inter-team coordination (fire, medical, rescue units and partner hospitals) was chaotic, with duplicated resource deployments and critical information gaps.
Our Solution
We built a full Emergency Response Management System with a real-time incident map (Mapbox), multi-team resource tracking, automated incident triage and assignment, a command-and-control dashboard for the operations director, public SMS and web alert broadcasting (Africa's Talking), a field officer mobile app with offline capability, and a post-incident analytics suite used for operational and client reporting.
