Project Overview
A mobile-first digital agricultural marketplace that connects 15,000+ registered out-grower farmers to buyers, input suppliers, field agronomists, and agricultural credit — reducing post-harvest losses and increasing farmer income.
The Challenge
Farmers in Harvestfield's out-grower network sold produce through middlemen who captured 60–70% of retail value. Input suppliers had no digital channel to reach smallholders. Harvestfield had no farmer registry, no market price data, and no way to channel input support directly to farmers. Post-harvest losses averaged 35%.
Our Solution
We built a comprehensive agri-platform with a farmer registration and biometric ID module, a produce marketplace with real-time wholesale and retail price feeds, an input supply marketplace, a buy-now-pay-later agri-credit module (integrated with LAPO MFB), field agronomist communication tools, an input-support disbursement module, and a mobile USSD fallback for feature-phone farmers.
